While the traditional tablet market is shrinking, most smartphone makers continue to develop and sell this type of mobile devices. But this hasn’t been the case with Motorola, which released its last tablet back in 2011. Now, however, as part of Lenovo, Motorola Mobility is reportedly getting ready to announce a brand new tablet.
According to Android Police, Motorola is working on an Android tablet that “has a premium look and feel.” For now, there’s little information about the new slate, but it’s said that it likely sports a screen of around 9-10 inches. More intriguingly, the screenshot seen above seemingly reveals one of the tablet’s software features: Productivity Mode.
Apparently, when enabled, Productivity Mode will let you seamlessly switch between apps by tapping app icons in the navigation bar, and close any app with a long press and an upward drag. Sounds pretty cool and useful to us. What’s also nice is that the navigation bar seems to include a dedicated app drawer button – next to the navigation keys.
At the moment, there is no word on when, where, or for how much this new Motorola tablet will be released. We also don’t know what name it will have, nor if it’s going to be sold by any major US carrier (if it will, we certainly expect LTE on board). Nevertheless, we are looking forward to seeing if this Motorola slate can bring something different to the tablet market.
