There are a lot of new ‘Full Metal Panic!’ related releases on the way.

The famous light novel series Full Metal Panic! is getting some new anime, toys and a PS4 game in the near future.

Full Metal Panic! is a somewhat gritty and militaristic mecha series but with comedic leanings. The premise has advanced technology, or Black Technology, revealed by mysterious children known as the Whispered, which in turn results in various organizations fighting to obtain said technology.

Sousuke Sagara works for Mithril and is tasked with protecting Kaname Chidori, a high-school girl who is an unknowing member of the Whispered.

The original anime series back in 2002 covered the first three novels and it’s this series that is getting a new series of compilation movies. The reason for this is that we also have a new series on the way, called Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory.

This is an all-new series and a continuation of the story and sees the return of the Arm Slave mecha ARX-7 Arbalest. It’s this version of the Arbalest that is also getting a new Metal Build toy.

Considering that we already had a very nice Metal Build toy of the Laevatein back in 2014, this Metal Build Arbalest is definitely overdue and it looks utterly amazing.

To finish off, Bandai Namco has also announced a new PS4 strategy game called Full Metal Panic! Fight Who Dares Wins (shown below).

Thus far, it looks like the radial movement versions of Super Robot Wars, such as Super Robot Wars NEO on the Wii, and that is no bad thing. It is also not overly surprising, as the same studio behind those games is also working on this one.

However, I had hoped that Bandai Namco would have gone done the third person action route but I am guessing the budget for that would have likely far exceeded what it would make back.

In any case, fans of Full Metal Panic! have a lot to look forward to over the next year or so.
