One day after launching a new unlimited plan, Sprint today announced a new feature for its existing customers.

Sprint says that it’s giving its existing Unlimited Freedom customers free HD video streaming, a feature that’s included with the new plan that Sprint just launched. Unlimited Freedom customers will get a message from Sprint on Tuesday, February 21 telling them how to enable the HD video feature.

The existing Unlimited Freedom plan offers “mobile-optimized streaming,” which means that video streams at 480p resolution, music streams at 500Kbps, and streaming gaming at 2Mbps. While the music and gaming streaming won’t change, the addition of HD video streaming will make a big difference for folks that like to watch video on their smartphone.

If you’re an existing Sprint Unlimited Freedom customer, keep an eye out for your message about enabling HD video streaming on Tuesday.
