2 cars fatally strike man who got out of his vehicle on I-78 – NJ.com

Two cars slammed into a 29-year-old man who got out of his car on Interstate 78 in Newark and killed him, police said Sunday.

The man, identified as Dominick Denegri, of Boonton, was pronounced dead at 3:55 a.m.

“The cars fled right after the accident,” New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said.

Denegri got out of his car around 3:30 a.m. in the westbound lane of I-78 in Newark when he was hit by two cars, one after the other.

Marchan said the police did not know why he was out of his car at the time, and are looking for the drivers responsible.
