Gold Museum Calf

Oxfords by Yeossal

I have never been a huge fan of tan calf. Let me rephrase that. I don’t like it for myself but have always been attracted to it in shoes. Just when I put it on, I feel it too strong a contrast for my typical attire (i.e. dark jeans and suits). But what I have come to love is Gold Museum Calf. Now, I know that it is not really even close to what a tan looks like but for me it is the equivalent in terms of a lighter shoe for sunny weather. Its orange hue allows it to be paired with darker trousers without having that awfully strong contrast taking place. Museum calf is getting more and more popular in the shoe industry but Gold museum calf seems to be the slowest to hit the masses as while it is a beautiful shade of leather it is not a subtle one. But I feel that this is soon changing as I slowly start to see more makers using it. Let’s see what 2019 brings in Gold Museum Calf!

But it is good to see that some makers are taking stabs at it and for me, it always comes out looking great as you can see from the examples here.

Do you have a pair of Gold museum calf shoes/boots/loafers? If not, do you at least like them?

My next acquisition: a pair of gold museum bit loafers!
